The CIMI exhibits traditional Carnival costumes and masks. It focuses on the wooden masks, for which the little village Lazarim is known. Although it is a tradition in many other villages of the Iberian peninsula.
There are masks of beasts, devils, fantasy figures, but also celebrities (for example Trump).
At times the CIMI organizes workshops and demonstrations of woodcarving.
And to see the masks at best:
visit Lazarim again during Carnaval. (Check our agenda in February!)
But the rest of the year, this modern museum is well worth your visit.
