This unique place of the Douro Verde is worth your visit! We recommend to first visit the little exhibition
hall and watch the explanatory film about Tongobriga before visiting the ruins (also available in English).
From the exhibition hall, you can access the remains of the old townhouses. The ruins of the Roman baths and the forum are at a little walking distance. Sometimes you will have to wait for one of the employees to open the gate to that area.
Tongobriga houses the professional school for archaeology, so you may encounter some students at work in the field.
