The Douro region’s most iconic equestrian celebration is without a doubt the Feira de Santa Cruz, also known as the Feira 3 de Maio. This vibrant and impressive event takes place in the heart of Lamego.
The festivities begin on Thursday with a fado night at the multiusos center. Over the weekend, visitors can enjoy the elegant parades of horses, skilled riders, and beautifully decorated carriages on Saturday evening and again on Sunday afternoon.
The highlight of the event is the thrilling Corridas de Passo Travado, held on the afternoon of May 3—a truly unforgettable spectacle.
